Meiling Circle (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website www.Meiling.hk  the YouTube channel “Meiling’s Smart Conversation” (Meiling’s《智聊天》or just 《智聊天》), and related membership services. www.Meiling.hk  is hereinafter referred to as “The Website”.

We collect personal information voluntarily submitted by our site visitors and registered members (e.g., name, email address, payment details).

Exception to confidentiality: As described in Sections 3 and 4 below, photos, videos, and performance recordings captured during our excursions, charity galas, or joint events are not subject to the same confidentiality. By attending or participating, you agree to the media use terms set out below.

3. Excursions – Photos & Videos

If you join an excursion organized by Meiling Circle and/or our associates, we may take group or individual photos/videos for promotional and educational purposes on our social media channels (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, WeChat, LinkedIn, etc.).

Your consent is assumed unless you explicitly tell our on-site event coordinator in person before or during the event that you do not wish to have your picture taken. If you raise an objection on-site, we will make reasonable efforts to avoid capturing your image or to blur/remove your identifiable image from public posts.

4. Charity Gala – Performances

If you voluntarily sing, speak, or perform on stage at a Meiling Circle charity gala, we reserve the right to record and use your performance video/audio for promotional, archival, or fundraising purposes on our website, YouTube channel, or other social media without seeking additional permission from you.

By stepping onto the stage and performing, you agree to this use. If you do not agree, please refrain from performing or notify us in writing before the event.

5. Third-Party Photos & Videos

We are not responsible for photos or videos taken by a third party (e.g., other attendees) of you or with you at any event or excursion organized by Meiling Circle, nor for how those third parties subsequently use such material.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information (e.g., event photos featuring groups) only as described in Sections 3 and 4 above, or with service providers (payment processors, email platforms) who are bound by confidentiality agreements.

We do not share your private personal information (name, email, payment details) with any other organization for marketing purposes.

7. Joint Events

From time to time, we may participate in, attend, share, or hold joint events with organizations such as (but not limited to):

  • Hong Kong Matchmakers 《香港婚姻介紹所》
  • Social Affinity 《知行薈》
  • Life Affinity 《樂齡匯》
  • The Rotary Club of Homantin Hill 《何文田山扶輪社》

For joint events, we will make reasonable effort to notify attendees which organization’s privacy policy governs media capture. When in doubt, you may tell any on-site coordinator from any participating group that you do not consent to photos or video. The terms of this Privacy Policy apply to our handling of your media, but we cannot control other organizations’ independent policies.

8. Cookie & Tracking Technology

The Website may use cookies and tracking technology depending on the features offered. These are useful for gathering information such as browser type and operating system, tracking visitor numbers, and understanding how visitors use the site. Cookies can also help customize The Website for you.
