服務條款
Meiling Circle provides services to all clients in accordance with the following terms and conditions.
- Definitions
In these Terms:
- “Meiling Circle”, “we”, “us”, “our” refers to Meiling Circle and its authorized representatives, including but not limited to: Monsoon HK Ltd, HK Matchmakers, Social Affinity, Life Affinity, Rotary Club of Homantin Hill and other partners and associates.
- “Member” refers to any individual who has registered and been accepted for membership.
- “Event” refers to any gathering, excursion, Q+A session, forum, or activity organized by, or in association with Meiling Circle and/or partners & associates.
- Eligibility
Membership is open to individuals aged 18 years or older. Meiling Circle reserves the right to refuse or terminate membership at our sole discretion.
- Monthly Newsletters
This is a member privilege. Please indicate on your registration form whether you prefer to receive your newsletter via email or WhatsApp. Regrettably, we do not offer postal or courier delivery.
- Monthly Q+A
The deadline for submitting questions is the 15th of each month. Please send your questions to office@meiling.hk before this date. Questions may or may not relate to one of our “Smart Conversation” videos. Submissions will be selected based on the importance of the topic and how many members would find the response helpful. Excessively personal questions will not be answered. Answers will be video-recorded and released exclusively to members on the 1st of the following month.
- Event Fees & Attendance
- Payment deadlines for all events must be respected.
- Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of payment.
- No refunds will be issued for last-minute cancellations or no-shows.
- Approval for a substitute attendee must be obtained at least one week in advance.
- For events requiring personal ID registration, no substitutes are permitted.
- For other events, substitution is strictly at our discretion.
- Where penalties are incurred, the member is obligated to make the corresponding payment.
- Some events are heavily subsidised as a discretionary privilege for members only. This is not an entitlement and does not extend to non-member substitutes.
- We use WeChat for all China travel communications. It is your responsibility to set up a WeChat account before departing from Hong Kong and to notify us of your account name.
- If you suffer from any specific kind of motion sickness, we recommend travelling by whichever means you feel most comfortable and meeting the group at the destination. Please note that a pro-rata refund may not be possible.
- Travel Insurance
- We purchase group travel insurance for each excursion outside Hong Kong.
- If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or require high or extensive coverage, we strongly advise you to purchase individual travel insurance.
- Mandatory Civility
Members are expected to conduct themselves with courtesy and respect at all times.
- Meeting times must be respected. We will wait no longer than five minutes. Latecomers, for any reason, may face consequences without further obligation on our part.
- Where dress codes are specified, attendees must comply. You may be denied entry, in which case paid fees will not be refunded.
- Many forums and events are held in beautiful venues. All participants are expected to respect their surroundings, including furnishings, decorations, and equipment such as high-end coffee machines, tea machines, refrigerators, ovens, etc. Please do not litter, clean up after yourself, and avoid making a mess.
- Civility toward fellow members and all service staff is mandatory at all times.
- Becoming intoxicated is strictly forbidden at all events, in all venues, at all times.
- Shouting, yelling, using foul language or using a phone in areas where phones are not permitted is strictly forbidden.
- We reserve the right to remove any attendee whose behaviour is deemed unbecoming.
- We reserve the right to terminate the membership of any member who has engaged in offensive behaviour during a Meiling Circle event or activity, without refund of any membership or event fees.
- Photography, Video & Recording
We may photograph or video-record events for promotional, educational, or archival purposes. By attending an event, you consent to such recording unless you notify us in writing at least 48 hours in advance, or notify the photographer at the venue yourself.
- Payment Methods & Late Payments
All fees must be paid by the deadline stated for each event or membership period. We reserve the right to charge a late administration fee of HK$500 for payments received after the deadline. Repeated late payments may result in suspension of membership privileges.
- Membership Termination & Refunds
Meiling Circle reserves the right to terminate any membership immediately for:
- Breach of these Terms,
- Offensive, dangerous, or disruptive behaviour,
- Fraudulent or dishonest conduct.
In such cases, no refund of membership fees or event fees will be provided. Members may terminate their own membership at any time by written notice, but no pro-rata refunds will be given for any unused portion of membership.
- Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meiling Circle shall not be liable for:
- Any personal injury, loss, theft, or damage to property occurring during any Event,
- Any cancellations, delays, or changes to Events due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control,
- Any loss of enjoyment, disappointment, or indirect damages arising from participation in any Event.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our gross negligence.
- Force Majeure
We shall not be held responsible for any delay or failure to perform our obligations if caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: typhoons, poor weather conditions, public health emergencies, government restrictions, strikes, natural disasters, or technical failures. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or offer event credits, but refunds may not always be possible.
- Amendments to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms at any time. Members will be notified of material changes via email or our website. Continued membership or attendance at any Event after such notice constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
- Privacy & Data Use
We collect and use personal data (including name, email, WhatsApp number, WeChat ID, and event preferences) solely for the purpose of administering membership, communicating about Events, and improving our services. We do not sell or rent member data to third parties. You may request access to or correction of your data by contacting office@meiling.hk.
- Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or membership in Meiling Circle shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
- Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
- Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any separate Disclaimer or Privacy Policy published on our website, constitute the entire agreement between Meiling Circle and its members. No verbal or written representation not contained herein shall be binding.
